Pastors Blessing - given to each animal. "Lord God, bless (animals name) - a beloved member of your creation." Once a year we thank God for our beloved pets. We do this in conjunction with the Festival of Saint Francis of Assisi - the patron saint of the poor and the needy as well as God's creatures. God calls upon us to manage - to take care of - all creation, and that includes those wonderful animals that we call our pets (they're actually more like additional family members!). So, it is our pleasure - it is our duty - to care for them, to love them, and to thank God for them. We praise God for these wonderful creatures!
