Welcome to Fall in The Village!  I wonder - have you ever heard of “the Seven Ups?”  They don’t have anything to do with the “uncola,” 7-Up.  I want to share them with you because I think they really “strike a cord.”

1.  Wake up!  We must commit ourselves to getting up each day and deciding to have a good (godly) day.  We can make that choice.  “This is the

in it.  Whenever we want to talk - God will listen.  God could live anywhere - but God chose to live in our hearts.  God sent Jesus to suffer and die for us because God loves us so much!  Let’s face it - God is crazy about us and there is nothing we can do or say that will change that.  That, my friends, is Good News indeed!  Amen.

day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm 118:24).

2.  Dress up!  Get dressed each day and put on a smile.  A smile is an inexpensive way for each of us to improve our looks.  “The Lord does not look at the things man looks at.  Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”  (1 Samuel 16:7).

3.  Shut up!  Say nice things and learn to listen.  God gave us two ears and only one mouth, so maybe we were meant to listen twice as much as we talk.  “Whoever guards his lips - guards his soul.” (Proverbs 13:3).

4.  Stand up!  Stand up for what you believe in.  Stand for something or you will fall for anything.  “Let us not be weary of doing good... as we have opportunity, let us do good.”  (Galatians 6:9-10).

5.  Look up!  Look up to the Lord.  “I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me.”  (Philippians 4:13).

6.  Reach up!  Reach up for something higher.  God wants us to stretch ourselves and serve in ways that we might not have thought possible.  “In all your ways, acknowledge God, and God will direct your paths.”  (Proverbs 3:6).

7.  Lift up!  Lift up your voice and your prayers to God.  “Do not worry about anything; instead pray about everything.”  (Philippians 4:6).

Here are some positive thoughts about God and God’s relationship with you. If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it.  If God carried a wallet, your photo would be
