Preparing Your Legacy

It’s easy to put off creating a “going away” file. But getting your affairs in order now will allow you to live the rest of your life to the fullest. What better peace of mind than knowing that your loved ones will have all the necessary information to carry out your final wishes.

The Christian Education Committee of Community of Joy is organizing a 3-week seminar that will help you focus on developing a plan to prepare for the end of life.

Our first session, “Celebrating Life – The Ministry of the Funeral Home”, will be held on Wednesday, January 24th from 1:00 until 3:00. The director from the Caruth Village Funeral Home will be speaking.  Wednesday, January 31st we will be meeting from 1:00 until 3:00. Our topic of discussion will be “Will Power – Financial Considerations”. Attorney Karen Baim Reagler will be our speaker.

Our final presentation will be held on Wednesday, February 7th at Community of Joy from 1:00 until 3:00.  Moonyean Smarzinski will bring the seminar full circle, as she shares her experiences and expands the data covered in the earlier sessions thereby creating a portfolio helpful in everyday life.

Throughout the seminars we will be discussing things such as the role of the Church, Stephan Ministries, the Memorial Garden and Columbarium options.

This seminar is for everyone! Presentations will be informative and user-friendly with time for interaction with our speakers. You will have your own workbook to help you record information about your affairs and make your last wishes known. Who could be more qualified to make the end-of-life plans than you? What a gift you would be giving to your loved ones. So, plan on joining us as we prepare for life’s final challenge.

Please sign up by January 14th. If you can’t make all the sessions, please come when you can. Just indicate on the signup sheet the sessions you will be attending. Please feel free to invite your friends and neighbors! Just make sure you sign them up, so we have enough booklets for everyone.
